In many applications such as Spiral (SAW) pipe manufacturing from steel rolls or misc. weldings from sheet, the edges have to be milled to regular profiles for best weld application.
For this purpose edge milling units with single side or double side rotary cutting tools are used .
The cutting tools remove chips to produce a clean edge with the desired angular profiles.
